Website Accessibility Guidelines

FVCC is committed to making our website accessible to everyone. We are working towards aligning with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, which provides a framework for designers and developers to enhance accessibility for people with disabilities.

Web Accessibility Improvement Procedures

The following procedures have been implemented to support accessibility throughout our site.

Regular scans and maintenance:

  • The web manager performs a quarterly, automated accessibility scan on the website using Accessibility Checker. If any issues arise, they are evaluated. If specific corrective action needs to take place, tasks will be added to the team’s project management workflow, where they are tracked through completion. Once completed, tasks are archived.

If FVCC receives a complaint or issue regarding web accessibility, it will be addressed promptly in this manner:

  • A task is created in our project management system.
  • The web manager reviews the complaint and determines the technical support personnel needed to address the issue.
  • The appropriate personnel is assigned and notified.
  • Personnel review the complaint and determine the validity. If a valid issue is identified, personnel conduct necessary steps to correct the issue.
  • Personnel test corrected page(s) via accessibility checking tools.
  • Depending on the scope of the complaint and the outcome, the web manager will make every effort to communicate the outcome of the complaint evaluation to the individual who submitted the complaint.

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of the FVCC Website. You can contact us via website@fvcc.edu. We make every effort to respond to inquiries within 2 business days.
