American Indian Student Resources

Montana American Indian Scholars

Inspired by a statewide initiative through the Montana Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education, and under the TRIO umbrella, is the Montana American Indian Scholars Program (MAIS). Program goals include connecting American Indian students to campus resources, creating a welcoming environment for students and their families, building community and promoting cultural awareness.

Scholarships

MAIS offers four $500 scholarships each year to American Indian students who are interested in the opportunity to build mentoring and leadership skills while working closely with MAIS and TRIO staff. Leadership opportunities may include: attendance at TRIO events, mentoring students, participation in campus tours, membership in the Native American Student Association student club, and/or event planning.
