Opening Reception Planned for Japanese Art Exhibit

An exhibit featuring Japanese art and artifacts opens at the Wanda Hollensteiner Art Gallery in the Wachholz College Center June 14.

The public is invited to attend a free opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. June 13.

Held in honor of the late Wanda Hollensteiner, the exhibit will feature collections of antique Japanese woodblock prints and netsuke, examples of kimonos and hinamatsuri and other traditional Japanese dolls.

The items included in the exhibit are on loan from the Hollensteiner family, the Wright Museum at Beloit College in Wisconsin, Flathead Valley Community College faculty members Douglas Harling and Jennifer Li, FVCC donor Lucy Smith and community members Nancy Westberg and Don and Marty Huber.

The exhibition will be on display through Sunday, Sept. 15. The gallery is open to the public from 9 a.m. to noon weekdays. The gallery is also open during Wachholz performances for patrons with show tickets.

The Wachholz is located on the FVCC campus. For more information visit
