Montana students receive awards for volunteer efforts

HELENA, Mont. — Fifteen college students were given Montana Student Volunteer Awards this week.

Officials say the award is given to students across the state who show a commitment to community service.

The students were recognized during a virtual ceremony on Thursday, where they also received a certificate signed by Governor Gianforte and their college presidents.

The awards are reportedly given out every year from the Governor’s Office of Community Service and the Montana Campus Network for Civic Engagement.

This year's award recipients include:

  • Kane B. Gilham - Blackfeet Community College
  • Audrey Narum - Carroll College
  • Tayla Undem - Dawson Community College
  • Jaycee Gail Four Bear - Fort Peck Community College
  • Hope Westerman - Great Falls College Montana State University
  • Britney Gonzalez Wolfvoice - Chief Dull Knife College
  • Hattie Bumgarner - Miles Community College
  • Hadley Barbie - Montana State University Bozeman
  • Tessa Stokes - Montana State University Billings
  • Amanda Hagerty - Montana State University Northern
  • Malachi Warneke - Montana Technological University
  • Tylanna Adams - Aaniiih Nakoda College
  • Colton Little - Flathead Valley Community College
  • Cain Santomo - Salish Kootenai College
  • May-Lyric Smith - The University of Montana
