Glacier Symphony Hosts Festival Amadeus Performances

The Glacier Symphony’s Festival Amadeus will feature two distinct performances this weekend.

The concerts are held at McClaren Hall inside the Wachholz College Center at Flathead Valley Community College. Both begin at 7:30 p.m.

Night one on Friday, June 21 is the Solstice Concerto Celebration. The extraordinary young trumpet virtuoso, Montana-raised Natalie Dungey, will mesmerize with her performances of trumpet concertos by Hummel and Glacier Symphony Maestro John Zoltek. She also offers the 10th anniversary of “Shine On!” written for the then 14-year-old virtuoso Zoltek.

Symphony principals Ali Schultz Levesque (violin), Griffin Browne (cello), and Jordan Neiman (piano) will take the stage as featured soloists for Beethoven's beloved “Triple Concerto.”

On Saturday, June 22 experience the most beautiful, dramatic and light-hearted music from Mozart’s greatest operas — “The Marriage of Figaro,” “Don Giovanni,” and “The Magic Flute.” The operas will be performed by a cast of five nationally acclaimed rising opera stars and the Festival Amadeus Orchestra.

It’s a concert for opera lovers and those who want an entertaining introduction to Mozart’s masterworks.

Tickets range in price from $15 to $69. For tickets, call the Glacier Symphony at 406-407-7000 or visit
