FVCC to Host Festival of Flavors Scholarship Fundraising Events

By NBC Montana Staff

Flathead Valley Community College is raising money for scholarships through several Festival of Flavors events this fall.

Back for its eighth season, Festival of Flavors is FVCC’s largest scholarship fundraiser. People can sample cuisine at local homes, restaurants and FVCC.

One local home event partnered with FVCC’s Culinary Institute of Montana to give culinary students experience.

Post pandemic-impact and rising cost of living have made tuition costs even harder to sustain for students in Flathead Valley. Almost 80% of degree-seeking students sought financial aid, and in 2022 the foundation awarded over $1 million in scholarships.

Last year’s Festival of Flavors raised $500,000 for FVCC students.

Event schedule:

  • Monday, Sept. 25: Online auction begins.
  • Friday, Sept. 29: FVCC-Food trucks, beverages, raffles and live music by Halladay Blake, Rob Quist and Clara Wieck.
  • Sunday, Oct. 1: Dinner at Suzy Williams’s home in Kalispell. Dinner will be prepared by FVCC’s Culinary Institute of Montana and will be paired with wine by Summit Beverage.
  • Monday, Oct. 2: Dinner at Herb and Omni in Whitefish. The upscale restaurant will launch in the historic 101 Central building in downtown. Dinner will be prepared by Chef Justin Kingsley Hall and will be paired with wine by Summit Beverage.
  • Saturday, Oct. 7: Wine tasting with large silent auction at Wachholz College Center on the FVCC campus. Small plates and wines will be prepared by local chefs.

Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online at fvcc.edu/foundation, by phone at 406-756-3632 or by email at foundation@fvcc.edu.
