FVCC staff members honored for work

Flathead Valley Community College staff members have been recognized for their commitment to education.

The college library was named one of 30 recipients of the 2025 Excellent Library Service Award (ELSA) by the Montana State Library, honoring its commitment to outstanding service and student support. This marks the 12th and final year of the ELSA, which honors outstanding achievement in library services across the state.

Applicants were asked to meet several of a variety of different goals in six different focus areas of library excellence: professional development, collaboration, programming, and planning and evaluation. The college recognizes Debbie Struck as the recipient of this year's internal FVCC Eagle Award. Struck has spent an amazing 34 years in Continuing Education, helping people in the community learn new skills, explore their interests and connect with others.

The internal Eagle Award recognizes an FVCC employee each year who exhibits exceptional commitment to FVCC’s mission and values, exceeds expectations within their role and promotes a sense of community in the workplace.

Amber Emmart, assistant director of human resources at FVCC, has been selected as one of 12 national participants in the 2025-26 Emerging CUPA-HR Leaders program, a prestigious professional development opportunity through the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources.

This year-long program recognizes volunteer leaders from across the country who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and initiative within higher education human resources and want to play an active role in advancing the profession.
