FVCC released the following:

Flathead Valley Community College’s Summer semester registration is on now and classes begin Monday, May 22. Two five-week sessions or one ten-week session offer students the opportunity to finish up a degree or certificate, get ahead on their educational journey, or simply keep their minds fresh and learn something new.

In addition to regular classes, this summer features offerings for all ages, such as Summer Experience for high school juniors and seniors. Students from across Montana have the opportunity to learn how college works and earn free college credits in this on-campus experience in Kalispell.

“Summer Experience is a great way for high schoolers to get a taste of college in a fun, exploratory environment and earn free college credits too,” says FVCC Running Start Program Director Beth Romain.

FVCC’s Running Start program offers high school juniors and seniors the chance to earn college credits while still in high school, and Summer Experience can be a low-pressure introduction to college or a continuation for students already taking FVCC college courses in high school.

“Every new participant takes a College 101 class and also selects a traditional college class, and returning Summer Experience students all take Financial Literacy for College plus a traditional college class,” Romain explains.

Also happening on campus this summer are the variety of classes from FVCC’s Continuing Education summer catalog. With something for truly every age, make sure to explore class offerings to learn something new and have some fun.

The FVCC Continuing Education summer catalog will be sent to all area mailing addresses in mid-April and registration for these classes opens April 12.

As part of the Continuing Education summer schedule, the popular Kids College classes return with offerings like LEGO Robotics and Art Extravaganza, as well as new classes and camps including the Montana Dinosaur Experience and Culinary: A Day in the Life. These classes offer age-appropriate hands-on learning for students entering the first grade through twelfth grade in the fall.

“Summer is a great time for our young learners to explore their interests and dive into fun classes. We’ve brought back class favorites from last year and have several new offerings for a variety of interests, abilities and grade levels,” says Luke Lavin, FVCC Continuing Education Director.

With a full line up of credit and non-credit class offerings, Summer semester is a wonderful time to join FVCC and explore your interests. Every learner of every age is welcome to campus and our dedicated staff and faculty are here to help. Registration for Summer semester is on now and classes begin May 22.
