FVCC Fall Concert Series Kicks Off Sept. 13 with Cowboy Country & the Gold Dust Girls

FVCC’s Music Department opens its Fall Concert Series with faculty and guest concerts on Sept. 13, Sept. 27 and Oct. 11.

The Sept. 13 concert will feature Cowboy Country and the Gold Dust Girls playing fast-paced swing music, bluegrass, Cajun and Tex-Mex music. FVCC music student Max Armstrong will accompany the group on violin.

On Sept. 27, violinist Wai Mizutani and world-renowned cellist Jessica Chen will perform with 13-year-old rising star Lauren Welch on violin and FVCC music student Natilee Radosevich on piano. They will perform various pieces by Niccolo Paganini, Pablos Sarasate, Henryk Wieniawski and Fritz Kreisler.

The Oct. 11 concert will feature FVCC faculty members Mizutani, Amy Beth Chisholm and Marshall Jones. The trio will perform selections from the operetta Die Fledermaus by Johann Strauss, as well as original compositions by Jones.

All concerts begin at 7 p.m. in the large community room of the Arts and Technology Building. There is no charge to attend the concerts, and they are open to the community.
