FVCC opens registration for evening welding course in Libby

MISSOULA Mont. — Flathead Valley Community College’s Lincoln County Campus is now accepting registrations for Welding Theory I, an evening course designed for beginners looking to launch their welding careers.

Taught by Mort Curtiss, the two-credit class meets Tuesdays from 5:30 to 8:15 p.m. at Libby High School from Jan. 20 to May 14, 2026, with a $150 course fee in addition to tuition. Students will learn core welding processes, safety practices and equipment operation, along with fundamentals such as oxy-fuel cutting, arc welding methods, weld joint geometry and welding symbols.
