Heavy Equipment Operator (CTS)
Successful heavy equipment operators are hands-on problem solvers who thrive in outdoor environments, rain or shine. With mechanical expertise and a passion for tackling challenges, they’re skilled at troubleshooting on the go and keeping operations running smoothly. If you enjoy working with powerful machines in dynamic settings, this is the career for you.
Certificate of Technical Studies (CTS)
Length: 2 semesters
This certificate program focuses on essential operating skills for construction and earthmoving equipment. This hands-on program prepares you for immediate employment as an equipment operator, providing practical experience with bulldozers, backhoes, excavators and other heavy machinery, along with safety certifications and basic maintenance knowledge. It’s ideal for those seeking quick entry into construction, mining or infrastructure development careers.
What’s great about this program is that you get your commercial driver’s license right away, then move into training on the heavy equipment like a bulldozer, excavator and backhoe. It’s going to be a big plus to show up on a job site as a grad of an industry-recognized program and with certification.
