Firearms Technologies (AAS, CTS)

Through a combination of hands-on training and classroom lectures, this program is designed to instill an understanding of the design and function of today’s firearms, as well as an understanding of metal finishing and stock finishing techniques, including Cerakote application and aluminum anodizing. You will learn by doing, completing several projects using hand and machine tools. FVCC’s Firearms Technologies program is the only one of its kind in the Montana University System.

Students can choose from two options:

My first class was 'Intro to Lathes' and I thought I was never going to figure it out. My instructor was very encouraging, and after I chambered my first rifle, he said, 'You can do anything now.'

Our program offers hands-on experience with precision equipment and a full machine bay, preparing students for success. With smaller class sizes, we're able to provide individualized attention, ensuring that each student gains the skills they need to excel and find meaningful careers after completing their training with us.
