FVCC is proud to offer our students a number of institutional and non-institutional scholarship opportunities. Scholarships can be based on merit, financial need or other criteria. FVCC is grateful to the many community donors who support scholarships for our students. We encourage students to apply annually for all scholarships for which they qualify.
FVCC Institutional Scholarships are now available to view and apply for directly online. By completing the Institutional Scholarship Application, you will be considered for all scholarships for which you qualify. New students must have applied for admissions to the college before they can apply for institutional scholarships.
Please make sure you have completed your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for the academic year for which your are submitting your scholarship application if you would like to be considered for need based scholarships.
The priority deadline for the 2021-2022 institutional scholarship was February 15, 2021. However, we are still accepting applications for a few outstanding scholarships for Spring 2022 for students pursuing business, criminal justice, culinary arts, early childhood education, elementary education, earth science, engineering, heavy equipment operator, lapidary arts, liberal studies, medical technology, nursing, pre-nursing, or paramedicine. To be considered, apply by January 31, 2022.
The priority deadline for the 2022-2023 institutional scholarship is February 15, 2022. Over 850 institutional scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2022 – Spring 2023 academic year. Apply by the priority deadline to be considered for all scholarship awards.
FVCC Academic Scholarship
If you are degree-seeking, have earned 30 credits at FVCC, and have a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA, then you may qualify for the FVCC Academic Scholarship. This scholarship will waive your in-district tuition for two semesters and must be used within two years of establishing eligibility. Application is available here.
FVCC Eagle Scholarship
Beginning December 10, Flathead Valley Community College invites eligible students to apply for the FVCC Eagle Scholarship for the 2022-2023 academic year. To be eligible to apply for the FVCC Eagle Scholarship, students must have applied as a new incoming, degree-seeking student for the fall 2022 semester. Running Start students can be eligible if they have earned college credits and will now be a degree-seeking student beginning fall semester 2022.
Students will be awarded based on their most recent cumulative GPA (either high school or college for transfer students), HiSET or GED Scores.
Scholarships are based on the following:

Funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are expended.
Students are required to enroll in at least 6 credits the semesters they are receiving the Eagle Scholarship. The Eagle Scholarship may be renewed for the following year provided students maintain the appropriate cumulative GPA.
Summer 2022 Scholarship
FVCC is excited to announce the availability of scholarships for Summer 2022. To qualify students must be degree seeking, have been enrolled as a student in Spring 2022 semester, and be enrolled in 6 or more credits Summer 2022. Students must have filled out a 2021-2022 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and demonstrate financial need. Award amounts will be determined based on enrollment status. Preference for awards will be given to students who have no other free assistance for the Summer 2022 semester. Deadline: April 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. To apply, after completing an Institutional Scholarship application at: https://fvcc.academicworks.com/ you will need to select the Summer Scholarship “Apply To” application.
Transfer Scholarship Opportunities:
Sons of Norway Scholarship
Flathead Valley members of Fedraheimen Lodge 4-140 Sons of Norway have since 1913 carried on the traditions and values brought to this new homeland by their forefathers. The past, present and, future members are committed to assisting in the betterment of our community and we believe that investment in promising representatives of the next generation is the best demonstration of that commitment.
Therefore, the Sons of Norway are offering a $2500 scholarship to support students who are graduating in Spring 2022 and have successfully completed a two-year academic program at Flathead Valley Community College and are transferring to the University of Montana or Montana State University. To apply for this scholarship log into academic works to complete an institutional scholarship application and then apply to the Sons of Norway Scholarship as an “Apply to” opportunity. The deadline for submitting this application is June 1, 2022.
Jarecki Foundation Loan Repayment
Financial aid assistance is available for students who satisfactorily complete a Vocational Certificate Program or an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC).
The student may apply to the Jarecki Foundation to repay a student’s Federal Stafford or Direct Subsidized or Unsubsidized Loan upon the student’s satisfactory completion of the coursework, and submission of an Application for Graduation to the Admissions and Records Office. One award will be made annually for up to $5000 worth of repayment of loans not to exceed tuition and fees for Flathead and Lincoln County Residents. Applications are available in the financial aid office and the application deadline is July 15, 2022.
C K Logue Transfer Scholarship
Flathead Valley Community College is offering several $1000 scholarships to transferring students. You must graduate from FVCC with your Associate’s Degree and you must demonstrate financial need to qualify for this scholarship. Financial need is demonstrated by filing a 2022-2023 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This scholarship will be awarded primarily on GPA and financial need. If there is a tie, the essay will serve as the tie-breaker. Applications are available in the financial aid office and the application deadline is June 1, 2022.
2 + 2 Honor Scholarship
The 2+2 Honor Scholarship must be used at one of the 4 year campuses in the Montana University System. This is a tuition waiver that will waive your tuition at one of these campuses for the next two years.
A student is eligible to be considered for a 2 Plus 2 Honor Scholarship provided the student:
- Has earned an associate’s degree with a minimum of 3.4 cumulative GPA;
- Has been enrolled and in attendance at an eligible campus for a minimum of two semesters prior to graduating;
- Has been accepted by an eligible 4-year Montana University System campus;
- Begins utilizing the scholarship in Fall 2022
- Is a Montana resident.
Applying for a 2 + 2 Honor Scholarship is a multi-step process. You must complete each of the following steps and submit the required paperwork by the deadline in order for your application to be considered complete (late or incomplete applications will not be accepted);
- Apply to and be accepted by one of the eligible campuses
- Fill out the FAFSA to demonstrate Financial Need in case of a tie
- Obtain an application online at https://awardmontana.mus.edu/ or by visiting the Financial Aid Office of any eligible campus
- Request your final transcript, reflecting cumulative GPA, as early as possible, this must be included with your application;
Private Scholarship Opportunities:
The Donohue Family SkillPointe Scholarship
A total of 50 Donohue Family SkillPointe Scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each will be awarded during 2022 and 2023. Scholarships are available to individuals of all backgrounds pursuing vocational training such as construction, communications, energy, healthcare, manufacturing, public service, technology, and transportation.
