Summer Experience offers high school juniors and seniors from across Montana the opportunity to earn free college credits at Flathead Valley Community College this summer.  Classes begin July 5 and conclude August 4.

All Summer Experience students take College 101, a one-credit course that  focuses on career exploration, collegiate expectations and experiential learning activities, including community service and river rafting in Glacier National Park.  This course meets once a week and includes a complimentary lunch.

In addition to College 101, students can choose from a selection of morning courses that meet Monday through Wednesday, including American History, College Writing, Contemporary Mathematics, Intro to General Chemistry (lab meets Thursdays and Fridays from 9am-12pm), Introduction to Interpersonal Communications, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, Medical Terminology and Programming with Java I.  Students may participate in a free textbook loan program.

Registration for Summer Experience opens April 26. Space is limited, and classes will fill on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no cost to register; however, students are required to commit to participating in all five weeks of the program.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Submit an FVCC Non-Degree Application.
  2. Take the placement tests. Call (406) 756-3880 to schedule an appointment.
