Program Overview:

FVCC students can study for one or two semesters in Japan at the University of Nagasaki or Toyo University in Tokyo. This program will be tailored to each individual participant, and no prior knowledge of Japanese language is necessary to participate.

Approximate Program Cost:

Tuition: Full-time FVCC semester tuition fees apply. No extra tuition will be paid to Japanese host institution.

Housing: Students will live in furnished on-campus housing, and housing fees are paid to the Japanese host institution.

Curriculum:

A typical full-time course of study will consist of:

  • Basic Japanese language and culture courses
  • Courses relevant to each participant’s academic field (these courses are taught in English)
    • Course options include: International Relations, Marketing, Macroeconomics, Business Negotiations, Sociocultural Studies, Foreign Legal Systems, Environmental Issues in Asia, Global Careers, Intellectual Property in the US, Business Communications, Globalization, etc.

Eligibility:

Students must be 18 or older and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher to apply.

Participants must possess a passport that will continue to be valid a minimum of 6 months beyond intended time of travel.

Program is limited to 5 FVCC students per academic year.
