Every health care office needs a skilled and knowledgeable manager to lead the clerical team.

A health care office manager supervises clerical staff and is knowledgeable in all aspects of medical office administrative operations including billing, coding, collections, appointment scheduling and medical records maintenance.

FVCC’s Health Care Office Management AAS degree can be completed in two years and offers students the opportunity to participate in an optional internship. Courses include medical terminology, basic human biology, medical coding and billing, accounting, business communication, management, negotiation and more.

Opportunities

  • Employment of healthcare occupations is projected to grow 14 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations, adding about 1.9 million new jobs. Healthcare occupations are projected to add more jobs than any of the other occupational groups. This projected growth is mainly due to an aging population, leading to greater demand for healthcare services.
