Whitefish Travel Enthusiast to Share African Safari Experience to Community

K.C. Voermans of Whitefish will share her recent South African safari adventure during a free lecture and slide show she will present for the community March 8 at Flathead Valley Community College.

Last November, Voermans traveled to South Africa with a tour group from Bozeman.  The week-long expedition involved exploring Kruger National Park, the Indian Ocean coastline, the Garden Route, an ostrich farm, a winery, Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope.  The tour group wrapped up the voyage on the southern tip of the African continent.

Voermans has worked at FVCC for 27 years, mainly in the Continuing Education Center as program director for the Road Scholar program, formerly known as Elderhostel, an international not-for-profit that conducts educational tours throughout the world.  Her personal adventures have involved diving the colorful waters of the Bahamas and Fiji, kayaking the Sea of Cortez, hiking in Costa Rica and New Zealand and hiking and canoeing throughout the western United States and Canada.

Open to the public, Voermans’ presentation will take place at noon in the Board Room inside Blake Hall on the FVCC campus.
