Spring 2012 Whitefish Credit Union Community Pride Scholarship Recipients Announced

Three Flathead Valley Community College students have been named spring 2012 recipients of the Community Pride Scholarship sponsored by Whitefish Credit Union.  The following students will receive scholarships totaling $1,400 for the spring 2012 semester at FVCC.

From Columbia Falls:  Rebecca Hicks, pursuing studies toward an Associate of Science transfer degree with an emphasis in nursing;

From Kalispell:  Krista Rodler, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in radiologic technology; and Jennifer Skillings, pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree in FVCC’s practical nursing program.

This is the seventeenth year Community Pride Scholarships have been awarded to permanent residents of Flathead, Lake and Lincoln Counties.  Throughout this successful program, Whitefish Credit Union has awarded $77,945 in scholarships to 239 students enrolled at FVCC

Community Pride Scholarship criteria include financial need, potential for academic and career success and letters of recommendation from a non-family member such as a teacher, counselor or employer.  The amount of each individual scholarship award varies.  Funds are intended to support tuition, fees and book expenses, although tutoring and child care costs are also considered.
