Flathead Valley residents have the opportunity to learn portrait drawing this spring from a talented fashion illustrator who has worked for some of the biggest names in the industry. Steven Miller has illustrated for Nordstrom, Prada, Harrods, Nike, Dillard’s and many others. He’s the author of “Drawing Fashion Accessories,” published in 2012 and available in six languages. Since 1991, he has taught at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Now a resident of Montana, Miller will teach a drawing class at FVCC through the Continuing Education Center. “Beginning Portrait and Head Drawing” is scheduled from 6-9:30 p.m. on Thursdays from March 15-April 26, with the exception of March 29 when the college is closed for spring break. Students will learn the basics of creating portraits of men, women and children and will draw from live models and photographs.
Cost to participate is $171 per person, and pre-registration is required. For more information or to register for the class, visit www.fvcc.edu/continuing-education or call 756-3832.
