Gorton comes to the position with more than 30 years of experience as an entrepreneur and small business owner. In addition, he has more than 20 years of experience as a director for a locally owned community bank. He holds a bachelor’s of science from Montana State University.

In his current position with the SBDC, Gorton will assist startups and small business in Flathead, Lake and Lincoln counties with financing, business planning and market knowledge.

The Kalispell Regional SBDC is located on the FVCC campus and works in conjunction with the college’s economic development initiatives.

“We are excited to have Dan onboard where he can share his knowledge of financial management and running a small business,” said Chris Parson, director of FVCC’s Continuing Education Center. “If you are looking to start a business or grow your current business, we recommend you tap into the SBDC services and Dan’s expertise.”

The SBDC will host an open house on Wednesday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 204 of the Arts and Technology Building on campus. Gorton will share information about the SBDC and the intensive Profit Mastery course to be held at FVCC in April.
