Meditation Expert to Present Free Series at FVCC

Marc Nevas, founder and Executive Director of Kalispell’s Ananda Seva Montana, formerly the Ananda Seva Yoga Center, will present a free series on reducing stress through meditation for the community. The series will include three sessions on January 24, February 21 and April 3 at Flathead Valley Community College.

Nevas will provide information and instruction on meditation techniques and how the ancient practice can help improve people’s abilities to focus and concentrate, to reduce stress and to achieve a deeper connection with themselves and their peers.

Nevas began his meditation practices in 1971 and has traveled to India extensively for advanced instruction and training in meditation and Eastern philosophy. He has received over 1,000 hours of formal training to become a yogic minister, or “Acharya,” through the Ananda Seva Acharya Training Program. Nevas is a founding member of Ananda Seva Mission Inc., an international meditation and service organization, and has served on its board since 1996.

Open to the public, all sessions will take place at 6 p.m. in room 144 inside the Arts and Technology Building on the college campus. No sign up is required. For more information, contact Mick Stemborski at 756-3945 or at mstembor@fvcc.edu.
