Meditation Expert to Present Free Lecture at FVCC

Marc Nevas, founder and Executive Director of Kalispell’s Ananda Seva Montana, formerly the Ananda Seva Yoga Center, will present a free lecture on reducing school and work stress through meditation for the community at Flathead Valley Community College May 11.

During his presentation, Nevas will provide information and instruction on meditation techniques and how the ancient practice can help improve one’s ability to focus and concentrate.

Nevas began his meditation practices in 1971 and has traveled to India extensively for advanced instruction and training in meditation and Eastern philosophy.  He has received over 1,000 hours of formal training to become a yogic minister, or “Acharya,” through the Ananda Seva Acharya Training Program.  Nevas is a founding member of Ananda Seva Mission Inc., an international meditation and service organization, and has served on its board since 1996.

Open to the public, the presentation will take place at noon in room 144 inside the Arts and Technology Building on the college campus.
