Lincoln County Campus Celebrates GED Graduation

The Adult Basic Education Department of Flathead Valley Community College’s Lincoln County Campus (LCC) celebrated General Education Development (GED) Graduation on June 13 at the college in Libby.  The program also celebrated their extremely high completion rate, helping 94.7 percent of students who entered the program in 2012 successfully complete their GED.

LCC Director Pat Pezzelle opened the ceremony by welcoming guests.  Jerry Wandler, FVCC Adult Basic Education (ABE)/GED instructor, explained the significance of the graduates’ accomplishments.   The keynote speaker was Sarah Long who spoke about the obstacles she overcame to obtain her GED which helped her transition successfully into a current full-time FVCC student at LCC.  The vocal selection was performed by Crystal Rose, Pamela Norman, and Julie Meyer.  ABE/GED Instructors Margie Munts and Jerry Wandler presented the special awards, and GED Coordinator Jan Meadows presented the GED Certificates to the graduates.  FVCC Vice President of Instruction and Student Services Kristen Jones, Ph.D. concluded the ceremony with closing remarks.

There were a total of 19 graduates from the Lincoln County Campus for the 2011-2012 academic year.  The following individuals provided permission to publish their GED graduation accomplishments:  Kristyn Black, Muha Benefield, Jamie Clark, Jimmie Flanagan, Sheila Markley, Sean McKee, Abigail Miller, Sara Puckett, Shayne Ranaldi, Chancey Wages.
