FVCC to Offer Calorie Counting Class

Get the tools you need to attain your healthy living and weight loss goals with Flathead Valley Community College’s new Creating a Calorie Counting Habit class.  Offered through the FVCC Continuing Education Center, this four-week non-credit class is designed to help students learn the basics of calorie counting.  Students will learn how incorporating this habit into their lives can help them reach their personal goals whether they involve making smarter food choices, becoming healthier and more energetic or losing weight.

The class will give students a supportive atmosphere in which to start creating their calorie counting habit.  Students will be given recipe ideas and meal plans for a range of calorie intake options, opportunities to taste new health foods, skills to create healthy recipes at home and knowledge of how to make smart choices while still allowing for indulgences.

Instructor Kathie Lapcevic is a writer and teacher who used this method to keep off over 100 pounds.  Kathie’s story has been shared nationally with Woman’s World magazine and on the Everyday Health website.

The class runs from September 23 through October 14 from 6 to 8 p.m.  The cost to enroll is $69.  Preregistration is required.  For more information or to register to attend, call 756-3832, email ceinfo@fvcc.edu or visit www.fvcc.edu/continuing-education.html.
