FVCC to Hold Running Start Informational Session
Flathead Valley Community College will host an informational session on its Running Start program for the community December 5 at 6 p.m. in the large community meeting room in the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus.
The Running Start program provides eligible high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get an affordable start on their college education by earning college credits while still in high school. Some courses offer dual credit opportunities which allow students to gain high school and college credit simultaneously.
The FVCC Board of Trustees recently approved piloting a new tuition program for Running Start, effective spring semester 2012. The new program will provide in-district high school students the first six Running Start credits at no cost in tuition and institutional fees. Subsequent credits will be offered at a significantly reduced cost.
Running Start priority registration for spring semester 2012 at FVCC will take place December 8-21. General registration will take place January 9-11 and January 13, 2012. Courses will begin January 17, 2012. For more information, visit www.fvcc.edu/runningstart.html, or contact Elizabeth Romain at 756-3847 or eromain@fvcc.edu.
