FVCC Theatre Holds Auditions for “Defying Gravity”

Flathead Valley Community College Theatre will hold auditions for its March production of Jane Anderson’s “Defying Gravity” February 8 from 1 to 2 p.m. and February 9 from 5 to 6 p.m. Show dates are scheduled for March 18-19 and 24-26.

Auditions are open to the public, and acting experience is not required. Auditions will take place in the FVCC Theatre inside the Arts and Technology Building on campus. Actors may prepare a short monologue or choose to perform a cold reading for the audition.

Loosely structured around the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, “Defying Gravity” artfully interweaves the past with the present and the lives of the participants and bystanders.

“It’s a moving yet uplifting study of art, religion and mankind’s endless quest for understanding,” said director Rich Haptonstall.

Three men and four women will be selected for the cast. Rehearsals will be Monday through Friday evenings leading up to the March performances. For more information, contact Haptonstall at 756-3962.
