FVCC Summerfest on Flathead Lake to Support Scholarships

The Foundation at Flathead Valley Community College continues its 2017 Festival of Flavors dinner series with a summer event at Flathead Lake Lodge on July 13. Proceeds will benefit scholarships for students in need.
“Summerfest on Flathead Lake” will feature the grilling skills of the faculty and students at The Culinary Institute of Montana at FVCC as they prepare a summer feast highlighted with smoked salmon, BBQ ribs, curry cauliflower steaks, bistro steaks, griddled butterflied chicken, summer vegetables and green salads, finished off with huckleberry cobbler, strawberry shortcake and homemade ice cream.
Guests will have an opportunity to bid on reserved seats aboard the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Executive Dining car for a trip from Whitefish to East Glacier. Dinner on the train is included in this unique experience.
“Funds raised at these events help make it possible for our local students to reach their dreams and change their lives,” said FVCC President Jane Karas. “We are grateful to the individuals, businesses and organizations that support these events each year. You are making a real difference.”
Last year’s Festival of Flavors and Bibler Home and Garden tours raised $250,000, allowing the FVCC Foundation to award an additional 200 scholarships. “Our research shows that students who receive scholarships complete their education at much higher rates than students who do not receive scholarships,” Karas said.
Tickets for “Summerfest on Flathead Lake” are $150 per person. The event begins at 6 p.m. For more information about Festival of Flavors events or to purchase tickets, visit www.fvcc.edu/summerfest or call 756-3632.
