FVCC Senior Institute Registration Begins Tomorrow

Registration for Flathead Valley Community College’s 18th annual Senior Institute will kick off January 13. The program provides area seniors ages 62 years of age and older opportunities to enroll in classes designed just for them. The program promotes the lifelong opportunities and enables seniors to learn new information, develop new and enhance existing skills, reconnect with old friends and make new ones and stay active during the winter months.

Last year, the Institute drew in record enrollment with more than 270 seniors participating in the six-week program. This spring, seniors have the opportunity to enroll in one of the program’s 15 classes that range from yoga, computers and American government to drawing, philosophy and film and the Civil War. The cost to enroll varies with each class.

The program will meet every Friday beginning February 17 and concluding March 23. Students are treated to a complimentary lunch buffet each Friday from noon to 12:50 p.m. Classes follow lunch from 1 to 2:50 p.m.

Classes fill on a first-come, first-served basis. To register, call 756-3851, or register in person at the FVCC Registration Office in Blake Hall on the college’s Kalispell campus. Mail-in registration forms with complete course descriptions and enrollment fees can be obtained by calling Janaya Okerlund at 756-3908 or by visiting www.fvcc.edu/seniorinstitute.html.
