FVCC Renewable Resource Club to Host Clothing Swap and Can Drive

Flathead Valley Community College’s Renewable Resource Club will host two events March 21 on the college’s Kalispell campus.  A clothing swap party will take place in the large community meeting room in the Arts and Technology Building from 3 to 6 p.m., and an aluminum can drive will be held outside the Arts and Technology Building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Clothing swap party participants are invited to bring gently-used clothing containing no rips or stains and accessories they wish to swap out for other participants’ items.  Clothing can be dropped off the day of the event from 11 a.m. to noon in the Arts and Technology Building or before March 21 at the college’s Service Learning Office in Blake Hall.  The event will feature food and live music.  Admission into the event is $4 for community members and $1 for FVCC students and anyone who brings a bag of aluminum cans for the can drive.  Funds raised at the event will support the Renewable Resource Club’s goal to expand recycling efforts on the FVCC campus and around the Flathead Valley.

The aluminum can drive will benefit the Glenn Ford Memorial and Recycling Scholarship awarded annually to deserving FVCC students.  The club will continue to hold can drives the third Wednesday of each month on the college campus and encourages FVCC students, college employees and community members to support the cause by saving their aluminum cans and depositing them during the drives.

Both events are open to the community.  For more information, contact FVCC Renewable Resource Coordinator Ruth Rickenbacher at 837-0544 or at
