FVCC Offers New Summer Camp for Teachers
This summer, Flathead Valley Community College will launch Teacher Camp, offering K-12 educators a new and affordable opportunity to earn up to four college credits. Designed with input from local educators, Teacher Camp is scheduled for June 15-19 and June 22-26 on FVCC’s Kalispell campus.
Teachers will be able to choose from a variety of courses, emphasizing engagement strategies in the areas of K-6 or 7-12 math, reading and language arts, classroom behavior management, technology integration and microbiology. Also offered will be occupational trades courses on computer numerical control (CNC) machining, electronics, CAM and machine quality control and precision measurements.
Classes range from one to three college credits per class. In addition to the college credits, the program presents teachers the opportunity to learn new strategies that can be implemented immediately and network with peers from across Montana. Participants also will be provided complimentary lunch each day and a free Teacher Camp T-shirt. For an additional fee, camp goers can participate in an optional yoga class, which runs both weeks of the camp from 7:30-8:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Special tuition rates apply, and advanced registration is required. For more information or to register for Teacher Camp, visit www.fvcc.edu/teachercamp or contact Connie Hitchcock at 756-4329 or email@example.com.
