FVCC Offers CNA Skills Refresher Course
Flathead Valley Community College will offer a skills refresher course designed for individuals whose Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is no longer current. Presented by the FVCC Continuing Education Center, the CNA Skills Refresher course will provide students the opportunity to review the hands-on skills needed to successfully achieve Certified Nursing Assistant recertification.
Skills covered in the class will range from feeding, dressing and bed transfer to calculating fluid intake and output and taking vitals. Prerequisites needed for the course include a previously held a CNA certification, general working knowledge of CNA skills, including vital signs in accordance with the CNA Candidate Handbook, and the commitment to review the study reference of your choice prior to the start of the course.
This course is not designed to prepare students for the written component of the CNA certification exam, nor does it serve as the official Montana CNA Competency Exam administered by the college. Candidates need to schedule the state exam directly with Headmaster by contacting hdmaster.com or (800) 393-8664.
The three-part course will meet on November 5, 13 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The cost to enroll is $204, and preregistration is required. This course will be held on the FVCC campus. Call 756-3832, email email@example.com, or visit www.fvcc.edu/continuing-education for more information or to register for the course.
