FVCC Holds Free Emergency Preparedness Training
Flathead Valley Community College invites the campus and area communities to attend one of two free Community College Citizen Preparedness Training workshops it will present in honor of National Preparedness Month.
Presented by FVCC Campus Emergency Coordinator Kris Long, the training will provide a step-by-step approach to learning about local emergency plans, identifying hazards that affect the local area and developing a disaster plan and supplies kit. Other topics covered will include evacuation, emergency public shelters, animals in disaster and information specific to people with disabilities.
Sponsored by the FVCC Service Learning program, the training will be offered September 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 203 and September 17 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. in room 144 inside the Arts & Technology Building on the college’s Kalispell campus. Seating is limited, and reservations are encouraged.
