FVCC Foundation Provides $20,000 in New Summer Scholarships

Flathead Valley Community College degree-seeking students hoping to catch up, keep up or get ahead by taking summer classes have a chance to receive some financial assistance this summer.  The FVCC Foundation, for the first time, is awarding up to $20,000 in summer scholarships for students who are enrolled in degree programs this spring semester at FVCC.   To be considered, students must be taking at least six credits this summer and complete a summer scholarship application by April 15.

According to Associate Director of Financial Aid Danelle Whitten, full-time students enrolled in programs during the fall and spring semesters and who have received Pell Grant assistance for those semesters are not eligible to receive Pell Grants during the summer semester.

“The Foundation scholarships will make a huge difference for students hoping to take some summer classes,” said Whitten.  “We are grateful to the community and the FVCC Foundation for making these scholarships possible.”

Applications are available online or at the FVCC Financial Aid Office in Blake Hall on the FVCC Campus.  For more information, contact the FVCC Financial Aid Office at 756-3849, or visit www.fvcc.edu/scholarships.html.
