FVCC Art Department Welcomes Artist Clark Derbes

   The Flathead Valley Community College Art Department will welcome visiting artist Clark Derbes for a free lecture he will present to the community April 7.

A resident of Vermont, Derbes is an eclectic self-supporting artist whose works range from large-scale encaustic paintings to sculptures and installations.  He currently is represented by Ann Connelly Fine Art Gallery in Baton Rouge, La., and The Schoolhouse Gallery in Provincetown, Mass., among others.  He is the creator of, a Web site that features online art demonstrations and tutorials as a means of teaching art beyond the classroom.

Derbes’ presentation will take place at 5:30 p.m. in room 108 inside the Arts and Technology Building on the FVCC campus.
