FVCC Announces Radiologic Technology Program Application Deadline
Flathead Valley Community College has announced the application deadline for fall admission into the radiologic technology program is February 27 at 5 p.m. The four-semester, two-year Associate of Applied Science degree program includes both classroom and hands-on training and prepares students for employment as radiologic technologists.
Students are trained in diagnostic X-Ray procedures and fluoroscopy, digital radiography, surgery, trauma and pediatrics. Students also are educated in patient care, X-Ray equipment physics and radiation safety. Students who complete the program will be prepared to take the state registry exam administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologies and apply for state licensure.
The program also provides students opportunities to further their careers in a variety of health care fields. The program is designed to be an ideal stepping stone for medical school or employment as a physician’s assistant. Radiologic technologists with experience and specialization can advance their careers in areas such as radiation treatment, ultrasound and nuclear medicine.
