FVCC Announces Preliminary Trustee Election Results

Flathead Valley Community College has announced the preliminary results of its Board of Trustees election. 

Robert A. Nystuen, of Lakeside, was elected to serve a three-year term beginning May 2011 and expiring May 2014 for the Flathead High School Districts. Shannon Lund, of Kalispell, was elected to serve a two-year term beginning May 2011 and expiring May 2013 for the Flathead High School Districts.  Thomas K. Harding, of Whitefish, and John M. Phelps, of Whitefish, were elected to serve three-year terms beginning May 2011 and expiring May 2014 for the Columbia Falls, Bigfork and Whitefish School Districts.

The following are the preliminary results from the election (Majority of precincts reporting):

Flathead High School Districts Three-year Term:

Nystuen—3,608 votes;

Flathead High School Districts Two-year Term:

Tim Baldwin—759 votes;

Michael Hebert—525 votes; and

Lund—2,529 votes;

Columbia Falls, Bigfork, Whitefish High School Districts Three-year Term:

Edwin X. Berry—708 votes;

Harding—2,046 votes;

Roland Horst—475 votes;

Phelps—2,028 votes; and

Glenn Wehe—449 votes.

The official results will be released following the canvass of the election at the next Board of Trustees meeting.
