FVCC Announces May 16 Deadline for Fall 2011 Paramedicine Program

Flathead Valley Community College has begun accepting applications for its fall 2011 paramedicine program.  The three-semester program includes both classroom and hands-on training and prepares students for careers in pre-hospital emergency medical care.  Students who complete the program will be prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practical and written certification examinations.  Upon passing the examinations, students will be eligible to apply for Paramedic Licensure through the Montana Board of Medical Examiners.

In order to apply for the program, entry-level course prerequisites are required to be completed or in the process of being completed.  Candidates must have valid Montana EMT – B licenses and current personal health insurance policies.  Candidates are required to pass an entrance examination and screening process and are subject to comprehensive background checks.

Space in the program is limited.  In order to be considered for the program, applications are required to be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 16.  Applications are available in the FVCC admissions office, by calling 756-3852 or outside room 110/111 in the Learning Resource Center on the FVCC campus.  For more information about the program and admissions requirements, contact Paramedicine Instructor Kris Long at 756-3901 or at klong@fvcc.edu.
