FVCC Announces Deadline for Fall 2013 Paramedicine Program

Flathead Valley Community College is now accepting applications for its fall 2013 paramedicine program.  The two-year professional degree program includes both classroom and hands-on training and prepares students for careers in pre-hospital emergency medical care.  Students who complete the program will be prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic practical and written certification examinations.  Upon passing the examinations, students will be eligible to apply for paramedic licensure through the Montana Board of Medical Examiners.

In order to apply for the program, entry-level course prerequisites are required to be completed or in the process of being completed.  Candidates are required to have valid Montana EMT – B licenses and current personal health insurance policies.  Candidates also are required to pass an entrance examination and screening process and are subject to comprehensive background checks.

Space in the program is limited.  In order to be considered for the program, applications are required to be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 15.  Applications are available online at www.fvcc.edu/paramedicine.html, in the college’s Admissions Office in Blake Hall, by calling 756-3848 or outside room 126D in the Broussard Center on the FVCC campus.  For more information about the program and admissions requirements, contact Paramedicine Instructor Kris Long at 756-3901 or at klong@fvcc.edu.
