FVCC AmeriCorps to Hold Informational Session on Volunteer Opportunities

As part of AmeriCorps Week, Flathead Valley Community College’s AmeriCorps Office will hold an informational session for the community March 18.

AmeriCorps offers opportunities for community members, including high school and college students, college graduates, returning military members, and others to engage in national or community service while gaining hands-on experience and leadership skills.  It is also allows students to explore career fields while earning funds that can be used to further their education.  Attendees will hear about the various AmeriCorps programs available in the Flathead Valley which include Montana Conservation Corps, Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA), National Civilian Community Corps, Compact Service Corps, and other state programs.

The informational session will take place at 6 p.m. in the large community meeting room in the Arts and Technology Building on campus.  Light refreshments will be served.  Participants are encouraged to bring nonperishable donations for the food bank.  For more information, call 756-3922.
