Axe the Boredom and Check Out The Logger Sports of FVCC Montana
Do you remember when we introduced you to "Lauren the Lumberjill?" She set the new world record in the Standing Block Chop at the Stihl Timbersports 2025 U.S. Women's Pro Championship.
Well, she told us last summer how she got her start at Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC)…and they've got a big event coming up in March.
According to a press release from the college, FVCC Logger Sports is the only intercollegiate sports team at FVCC and was founded in 1972 by Hugh Adams and his son Eyler Adams. Today, Eyler Adams is still an integral part of the team as one of its coaches.
The team has achieved tremendous success over the years, including 14 championships at the prestigious Association of Western Forestry Clubs (AWFC) Conclave, an annual competition among postsecondary schools west of the Mississippi. In 1998, FVCC made history by becoming the first two-year college to ever win the championship and is still the only college to win five championships titles in a row.
They've got a big event coming up on Friday, March 13th to raise funds for the team's upcoming season. The evening’s proceeds will support travel expenses, as the Logger Sports team competes in regional competitions each spring.
The Logger Sports team will compete this spring at the 86th AWFC Conclave, hosted by Cal Poly State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.
Join the team and our community for dinner and silent auction on Friday, March 13 on campus in Kalispell. Tickets are $25 per adult, $10 per child 12 and under, which includes a BBQ dinner, generously donated and catered by D&T BBQ.
Tickets are available now at fvcc.edu/logger. Full details for the upcoming event are in the poster below.
