“Rangers, Trappers, and Trailblazers” Book Signing and Presentation
October 23, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Author John Fraley will give a behind-the-scenes look at the making of his latest book, “Rangers, Trappers, and Trailblazers: Early Adventures in Montana’s Bob Marshall Wilderness and Glacier National Park” on Tuesday, October 23 at 7 p.m. in room 139 of FVCC’s Arts and Technology Building. The presentation is free and open to the community.
“Rangers, Trappers, and Trailblazers” recounts the true adventures of people who earned their livings in the wild mountains and rivers of the Bob and Glacier during the 19th and early 20th centuries, including rangers Clyde Fauley and Henry Thol and trappers Adolph Werner and Ichinojo Sakurai. Several of the pioneers interviewed for “Rangers, Trappers, and Trailblazers” will join Fraley at the October 23 presentation to offer their unique perspectives on some of the stories in the book.
Fraley is the author of two previous books about pioneers of Northwest Montana: “A Woman’s Way West” released in 1998 and “Wild River Pioneers” released in 2008. In 2017, Fraley retired from a 40-year career with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. He holds a B.S. in Wildlife Biology and an M.S. in Fish and Wildlife Management and teaches wildlife conservation and other courses at FVCC.
Published by Farcountry Press, “Rangers, Trappers, and Trailblazers” is available for purchase for $14.95 at the October 23 book signing event, at the FVCC Bookstore or online at www.farcountrypress.com.
