2018 Graduation Ceremony

Flathead Valley Community College will graduate its 50th class on Friday, May 18 during the college’s spring commencement ceremony. The ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. on the campus lawn adjacent to the Rebecca Chaney Broussard Center for Nursing and Health Science.
FVCC will recognize 368 students for completing graduation requirements during the 2017–2018 academic year. The college will award 345 associate’s degrees and 48 certificates, with some individual students earning more than one degree and/or certificate. The featured speaker will be FVCC alumna and astrophysicist Dr. Sarah Rugheimer, a graduate of Harvard University and a current Simon Origins of Life Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Later this year, she will begin the Glasstone Research Fellowship at Oxford University in England.

1. Where and when do graduates line up?
Graduates need to check in by 5:15 p.m. inside the Broussard Center. Line up will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m.
2. How many guests may each graduate invite?
We do not limit the number of guests each graduate may invite, however, we ask that graduates keep in mind that seating is limited.
3. Will the ceremony be live streamed for at-home audiences?
Yes. We will live stream the event from the Flathead Valley Community College Facebook page.
4. Will the venue be wheelchair and walker accessible?
Yes, however, the event will take place on a grass surface. Please ask an usher for assistance finding an end-row seat and plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m.
5. What time should guests plan to arrive?
Guests who are using wheelchairs or walkers should plan to arrive by 5:30 p.m. in order to obtain end-row seating. All guests should be seated by 5:55 p.m. The ceremony will start promptly at 6 p.m.
6. Where should graduates and guests park?
Graduates and guests may park in any of the parking lots on campus. The event will take place underneath a large tent on the campus lawn adjacent to Grandview Drive. Guests with ambulatory limitations may want to plan to arrive early in order to secure a parking space in one of the lots closest to the tent.
