Student Government & Leadership

Do you enjoy helping others, have fresh, creative ideas and want to gain leadership skills while making a positive impact on your fellow students’ college experience? The following opportunities might be for you.

Student Government

Student Government advocates in the interest of all students, provides leadership opportunities and enhances the college experience by unifying and empowering its members.

The group is fiscally responsible for student activity fees and welcomes any questions or concerns regarding allocation of appropriate resources.

Student Leadership Programs

FVCC’s Student Leadership Program supports student leaders by building leadership skills, awareness of leadership styles and theories, and encourages personal growth through a variety of experiences and practice.

All students are welcome to participate at no cost. If you currently hold a leadership position or are interested in becoming a leader of a campus organization, this program is designed for you.

The kickoff to our Student Leadership Program begins with a two-day retreat in the fall with transportation, lodging, food and materials provided at no cost to current students.

Leadership workshops are provided throughout the year to further develop leadership skills and challenge you to apply the skills you've learned to real-world situations. The program ends with a celebratory awards ceremony in May.
