Flathead Valley Community College Student Government (FVCCSG) and the Student Engagement Office are proud to offer the FVCC Food Pantry.  The pantry is designed to meet the immediate food needs of its students by providing non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products. By providing students and their families with basic needs, students can continue to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

According to the Fall 2016 Survey of Student Basic Needs Survey by Wisconsin Hope Lab, the percentage of FVCC’s students facing food insecurity are higher than the regional and national figures. Results showed that 57% of our students didn’t have enough money to purchase food to last, and 51% of our students reported they had to reduce meal size or skip meals due to lack of food.  We feel that each student deserves to be set up for success, and the Food Pantry ensures that no student will be left hungry.

Hours and Location

The Food Pantry is located in the Learning Resource Center in Room 109.

It is open for operation on Tuesdays 12-2pm and Fridays from 1-3pm or by appointment.

How to Use the FVCC Food Pantry

Students will be required to present their student ID when visiting the pantry. They will complete a brief online form before gathering food items.

If a food box from the FVCC Food Pantry is desired, please complete this form. Once we receive your request, we will create a food box and have it ready at the designated time for curb-side pickup. Food boxes will contain a variety of canned meat, fruits, vegetables, soups, pasta, snacks and personal hygiene items.

Privacy will be protected and all information is kept confidential.

Donations

We accept non-perishable food, hygiene items and grocery store gift cards. Blue donation boxes are located by the Student Engagement Office in Blake Hall, room 155 and the Learning Resource Center, room 109.  We would greatly appreciate any of the items listed below:

Canned Fruits & Vegetables, Canned or Instant Potatoes, Fruit and Vegetable Juices, Vegetable Broth, Dried Fruit, Dried/Canned Lentils, Kidney or Black Beans, Microwave Popcorn, Applesauce Cups, Canned Meat (chicken, tuna, etc.), Nuts (peanuts, almonds, cashews, etc.), Peanut or Other Nut Butters, Dried Cereal, Dried Oats or Instant Oatmeal, Dried Pasta (spaghetti, macaroni, etc.), Spices or Other Sauces, Jelly, Plastic Bags & Can Openers
