FVCC’s Student Leadership Program is designed to support our student leaders by building leadership skills, awareness of leadership styles and theories, and facilitate personal growth through a variety of experiences and practice. Students will receive a certificate of participation at the end of year and an invitation to the Annual Student Leadership Awards Brunch in May. There is no cost to students.

All students are welcome to participate. If you currently hold a leadership position or are interested in becoming a leader in a student organization, this program is especially designed for you!

September – Student Leadership Retreat on Flathead Lake

The kickoff to our Student Leadership Development Program starts with a two-night, two-day retreat for our student leaders. We will be focusing on team building, goal setting, meeting and event planning, overseeing a budget, leadership and personality style assessment and group dynamics. We will use engaging, hands-on methods with plenty of simulations and practice sessions.  It will be a fun, rewarding and meaningful retreat.

The retreat, including transport from FVCC and back, lodging, food and materials will be free of cost to students

Fall Semester – Leadership Class

Models of Leadership GBLD 220 – 1 credit – Late starting class in October

The course supports student leaders by creating awareness of leadership styles and theories, and the hallmarks of good leaders. This class will be fun and interactive.

Spring Semester Workshops – Tying It All Together

The leadership workshops in February, March and April focus on conflict resolution, emotional intelligence, and balancing your plate. These workshops will take the skills students learned at the retreat and in class and tie them all together and apply them to the problems and challenges they will face as leaders.

May – Student Leadership Award Brunch

Students that participate in the Student Leadership Program will be invited to attend the Award Brunch in May.
