We take our role seriously as community educators, leading the way to build the economy and improve the quality of life in the Flathead Valley. By nurturing close ties with both constituencies, FVCC can offer the services our community needs the most, from employee training to community educational needs.
Partners.
We believe in bridging education and business. So we co-founded the Flathead Business and Education Council (FBEC) that launched an initiative between local business, the public school systems and FVCC. This pioneering effort provides career preparation and advanced training, along with traditional core classes, to high school students before they enter higher education or the workforce.
We partner with the Glacier Institute, a private, nonprofit organization serving as an education leader in environmental awareness. We award FVCC credit for classes you take from the Glacier Institute. Glacier National Park and the Flathead National Forest serve as your outdoor classrooms for ecology-based field learning.
As members of the local Chambers of Commerce, we stay closely tied to the area business communities and provide input on various committees that make a difference in the lives of residents.
We are a proud sponsor of the Northwest Montana Business Expansion and Retention (BEAR). Through BEAR, we are able to talk to businesses and respond to their specific needs.
We serve on the steering committee of the Nonprofit Development Partnership in order to increase the capacity and effectiveness of Montana’s nonprofit sector.
We are a Tier 3 member of the Community Management Team, which connects the workforce development system with employers.
And we serve on the steering committee of Flathead on the Move, whose mission is to cooperatively examine opportunities and challenges in the Flathead Valley and develop strategies to promote economic prosperity and positive community dialogue. Flathead on the Move was created to inform citizens about our emerging economy and explore differences and similarities with other communities.
