Geography
Geography provides a broad perspective on the Earth and its land, water, air and biological systems as it is inhabited and transformed by humans. The interconnectedness and interactions of the physical environment and human systems create a diversity of regions and places. Geographers broadly study the physical Earth as well as the relationships between humans and their environment through the various historical, cultural, social, economic and political structures of populations. Beyond human or cultural geography and physical geography are many areas of specialty within the field, including climatology, geomorphology, GIS and remote sensing, land-use planning and management, community development and demography.
Work with FVCC academic advisors to customize your degree so you're prepared to transfer and study Geography. In two years, earn an associate degree, complete lower-level general education requirements, and prepare to transfer to any four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree.
