Biology

Biologists are employed in a wide variety of fields including research, teaching, industry, governmental agencies, consulting firms in environmental work, health, and wildlife.

Some positions are open to those with a bachelor’s degree, but most opportunities exist at the master’s and doctoral levels of preparation. Most biologists need a broad background in the natural sciences, mathematics, and communication skills.

Work with FVCC academic advisors to customize your degree so you're prepared to transfer and study biology. In two years, earn an associate degree, complete lower-level general education requirements, and prepare to transfer to any four-year institution to earn a bachelor’s degree.
