"Land of Many Stories: The People and Histories of Glacier National Park" Traveling Exhibit Comes to FVCC

With this year marking the centennial of Glacier National Park, the Montana Historical Society, in collaboration with Glacier National Park-National Park Service, has produced a traveling exhibition illuminating the Park’s cultural and natural wonders and is now on display for the public to view at Flathead Valley Community College.  Sponsored by the FVCC Library, the exhibit explores the many ways people have used and enjoyed the area from pre-European contact to present day.  It also illustrates how the Park has remained the same for its visitors even though it has experienced numerous changes over the years.

The traveling exhibit parallels the theme and content of the major exhibition displayed currently at the Montana Historical Society as it is comprised of reproductions of historic photographs, graphics and interpretive text.  The exhibit is free and open to the public and available to view Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the college’s Eagle’s Nest Café inside Blake Hall through March 15.  This exhibit is funded by the Glacier National Park Fund and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation.  For more information, contact Michael Ober at 756-3853, or email mober@fvcc.edu.
