We encourage you to start the application process early; however, we will accept applications until semester classes start. Your admission process must be completed before you can register for classes.
Our tuition and fees are determined by residency. The costs of books vary depending on the courses you register for. We encourage full-time students to budget approximately $500 per semester.
The cost of higher education can seem overwhelming. Over 60% of our degree seeking students received some form of financial aid for the 2006-2007 academic year. FVCC has diverse financial aid packages to help fund your future. To start the financial aid process, you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Flathead Valley Community College also awards a wide variety of types of financial aid.
We offer a wide variety of programs, both transfer and career and technical degrees. FVCC has over 45 programs that will lead to a rewarding career. Flathead Valley Community College is accredited and our credits transfer to your college or university of choice.
Currently, there are 46 full-time instructors on our campus. The majority of our faculty members have advanced degrees and all are highly qualified. Our instructors are drawn to FVCC for the ability to work closely with you, as a student, and focus on high quality instruction. At FVCC, you won’t be taught by graduate students.
After your admissions process is complete you will receive an acceptance letter indicating your advisor. Advisors are assigned based on your program. All degree-seeking students are required to meet with their advisors prior to registration.
At FVCC, you are a name not a number. You will not get lost in the crowd! The average student to faculty ratio is 16 to 1.
The faculty and staff at FVCC strive to make each students college experience as successful as possible. FVCC offers tutoring services. We have a math lab, writing lab, and reading lab available to all students at no charge. Students also have access to the FVCC library which has state-of-the-art resources both for research as well as for quiet study.

We keep a current house list which consists of rooms for rent, roommates wanted, houses and apartments for rent. There are many rental agencies around our area to help you find an appropriate living situation. Our local newspapers, The Daily Interlake and Mountain Trader also have a list of available rentals.
The Eagle's Nest cafeteria is open for breakfast and lunch on campus; for those who would rather go off campus to eat, there are numerous eateries within a few minutes of campus.
We have a men’s and women’s soccer and cross-country team. There are sports scholarships available for both sports teams. We also offer a wide variety of intramural sports. FVCC has a logger sports team that participates in competitions around the northwest. Check out the scholarship opportunities available to logger sports participants.
The Flathead Valley Community Theatre is just one example of how students can get involved! We encourage our students to get involved and participate in the many student organizations and clubs offered at FVCC. Don’t forget about our off campus fun as well.
If you like the outdoors, you will never be bored in the Flathead Valley. We are lucky to have two of Montana’s finest ski resorts, right out our back door. Big Mountain and Black Tail ski resorts offer a wide variety of outdoor activities both in the winter and summer.
We have both a career counselor and career center on campus. We offer career testing to help guide you in the right career path. Over 95 percent of our job-seeking graduates successfully secure employment.
